THE WEEK OF September 23, 2002

Event Updates:  FLIP-A-THON 2002 update will be posted once all the money is collected.  Bottom line, the event was very successful.  Goal:  $4,600.00.  Raised:  $6,000 (est.).  Wow!

Diver updates:  Pete's starting to get it on 3M.  Stood up his 403c on 3M, and landed all his voluntaries.  Abby and Erin Perko landed most of their dives, which was nice to see, but man-o-man... Julia and Sami absolutely tore up the house on 3M on Monday.  Awesome...  On Tuesday, it was lotsa diving to be had.  Shawn Neer landed his 103b on 1M (long time coming)... now ready for a 203c as well.  Hannah Feuerstein landed both of her 301c and 201a for 5.5's to 6's, and has a boatload more potential on those two dives... also got her 402c in twice.  Erin Lionberger FINALLY... 402c on 1M.  Sure it was dryland, but she'll get it Friday.  Trust me.  Sami landed her 5323d a couple times, and hurdles are really looking sharp.  Julesberg... YES.  5233d on 1M.  Very legit.  Could mean trouble for lotsa divers out there.  Ripped her 201b and 301b on 1M for legit 7.5's and 8.5's.  Nicely!!!  Niko landed the best 204c prep on 1M that I've seen in awhile, and he also has this new dive called the tabletop helicopter (assisted by Coach Kev).  Hilarious.  Bryce had VERY nice optionals on 3M today.  Great!  Wednesday saw Sami putting her 5323d in much better, Abby nailing ALL her dives on 1M, Lindsay starting to get the lines on 201c and 301c (her 101c and 401c's are beautiful) and ready to put the 104c on her feet again.  Julesberg is doing some serious rippin' on 3M... Pete is beginning to learn to stretch on entries, and all dives are beginning to line up like champs.  Susan got her front double back in, exchanged nasty looks with Coach Kev, and gave us the poster child posture for "STOP AHEAD" signs.  Erin Perko is putting her BIG on by nailing 101b, 103b, 201b, 301c!, 401b, and ducking her 403c in again.  5223d looks fine, but more to come on that dive.  Wrists hurt (could be carpal tunnel syndrome? or just WAY too much gymnastics as a young child).  Julesberg is suffering from the same thing.  JERRY MOLSBERRY giving me his occasional inspired practice... 203b on 3M is his favorite dive now, and he's darn close to a 5223d on 1M (ouch hahahaha).  Hup!  Tyler Frazier is starting to dive like a champ again, and Alex Berger has her 103c back (VERY nice).  Kaitlyn Murphy is VERY close to doing her 002d on 3M, and a 201c on 1M (just has to pull the trigger).  I MISS AMY GARRISON (where are you, Ames?)...  Cassidy Lynch continues to impress... has an open invite to join the competitive team, which he used to begin competitive training on Thursday and Saturday.  He's got a future.  KP (Kaitlyn Patz) is nailing her vols, and is starting to work diligently on her twisters.  Ben Raznick is doing great all around.  Needs to quit jump rope!  (hehehe)  Brent Reichman... YES YES YES... he has a great 301c and 302c now, and is putting the 104c in better than when he started with us.  Great job Brent.  By the way, not like I forgot to mention it, but either Monday or Tuesday, Sami drained a 201a on 3M like I've never see (did it again at USAFA on Saturday), and put in a series of 4 X 203b's, and went on to put in her first 2-3 204c's on 1M (preps for 3M optionals).  Hot stuff.  Also, Jill Wierzba is getting close to landing a legit 301c.  All other dives (including her new 104c) are going nicely.  Hannah put her 402c in again.  Saturday was a great practice BTW... Emily Hanson goes crazy on platform, learning a 201b and 301b on 5M, while putting a beautiful 101b, 401b, and 403c in as well.  Nicely done.  Only a few more dives, and the kid is JO!  Jerry Molsberry got back up on the platform and had everything going again.  Stud guy.  Nick put his dives back in.  Lindsay Walderman had a great day on 3M, landing all her voluntaries.  Cassidy had a great 203c going on 1M, and put all his dives in on 1M.  Sami landed her 101b, 103b, 612d, 301c, and 401b VERY well.  And Leslie Simonton landed a couple solid 104c's (as well as all her voluntaries on 1M) before leaving early.

Shutdowns/Cancellations:  All practices will be held as scheduled.
