THE WEEK OF September 9, 2002

Event Updates:  FLIP-A-THON 2002 is Friday the 13th.  Call Coach Kev (303.949.8331) to reserve your hour of flipping at either 4p, 5p, or 6p.  The 4p and 5p sessions are almost filled, with 6p pretty wide open.  Don't be late for your session, PLEASE.  Thanks.

Diver updates:  Alex Berger has her 002d, and is working on reverse jumps prepping for a 301c, hopefully.  Other voluntaries (101c, 201c, and 401c look awesome).  Bryce Engstrom is out with a toe "owie," due back real soon.  Andrea Esa had a short workout on Monday, but landed her 103b, 201a, 301c, 401b on 1M, and 103b on 3M.  Tyler Frazier is a total goofball sometimes... Hannah Feuerstein is getting back into the diving scene with a pretty solid 301c, and a beautiful 401b.  More to come.  Emily Hanson landed her first REAL 105c on 1M, and then on 3M.  The kid's got a future.  Phil Lahnert overcame some jitters on Tuesday and landed all his dives...  Erin Lionberger finally is getting in touch with her inner self... hehehe... and is appreciating her 104c more.  Diving VERY well considering her soccer schedule.  Shonna landed a couple really nice 201a's on Wednesday.  Cassidy Lynch is starting to understand the mechanics of diving!!!  403c on Tuesday, along with some pretty good 104c's and 201b's.  Jerry Molsberry started the week out with a unmatched 201b on 1M, and will be keeping his back happy so that he can have a solid day on Thursday (springboard), and Saturday (USAFA).  Julia Northrop... Monday, she was on fire on both 1M/3M, ripping all 103's, 201b's, 301b's, 401/403b's, and 5132d on 3M (legitimate 7's to 9's on a couple), then on Tuesday, landing her first 105c on 1M (face first owie), but will have that dive real soon, and smoked her 403b a couple times, and Wednesday, nailed her 201b/301b's on 1M and 3M, and a fantastic 302b prep on 1M... 303b almost ready for action???  Kaitlyn Patz is getting back into it in fast forward, nailing all her dives, and is ready to start playing with twisters again.  Erin Perko is starting to get through the process of "I've been off the boards WAY too long" blues, and correcting some flawed mechanics... also ripped several 001d's on 3m, landed her 201b on 3M, and got her 301c back on 1M (beauty).  Abby Poulter lined up some nifty voluntaries on 1M on Monday and Wednesday.  Ben Raznick is beginning to get it... with smoother 1M/3M line-ups on 103b, and fantastic 201c's (6-7 range), and his 301c and 401/403c going in nicely... AND, Ben landed his first 405c on 3M (YES YES YES).  Also, Ben was featured on ESPN (Monday night) for that other sport he does.  Susan Richardson  had a short practice on Monday, getting her 103b and 201a on 1M, and a couple lead-ups for a 301c, and another short workout on Wednesday, getting her 201a in on 1M, and a couple preps for 301c.  Sami Rose is on fast forward on 1M and 3M, landing all her vols for consistent 5-7's, with her 401b (3M) receiving an 8, and her 301c (3M) ripping for 8.5's on one rep... more to come from Sam-Sam-I-Am.  Niko got all his vols on 1M/3M on Monday, with the occasional inspired effort, and his back and reverse vols in on Wednesday.  This guy's got a future, that's all I gotta say.  Taylor Lee Traughber landed his 201c again (not a fluke!!!), and almost made 201c on 3M (little bit of smackage on that one).  Amber Utesch is still on injured reserve.  Brittany Vigil landed her first 201a.  Lindsay Walderman landed her first 104c (YES YES YES), and her first 201c on 3M (a legitimate 4.5 to 5.5 dive).  Peter Wethington got all his vols in on 1M, and his 101c/401c on 3M on Monday, and then progressed to land his 103b, 201c, 301c and 401c on 3M  Wednesday.  Gotta stay tight, Pete.  

Shutdowns/Cancellations:  No practice on Friday, September 13th, due to the Flip-A-Thon 2002.  All other practices will be held as scheduled.
