THE WEEK OF 8/5/02

Updates: 

Diver updates... Late Waytagoes go to Bryce Engstrom and Julia Northrop who both learned new dives last week.  Bryce put a couple of his first 107c's on 3M, while Julesberg tried her first 303b on 3M.  Great job, you two.  Also, Nick Siegler is beginning his work on a very nice reverse twister, landing several 5321d's, and he also landed a couple of relatively new dives again (203c and 303c on 1M).  "Niko" landed the 203c for 5's at the FUN1 meet on the 9th, winning 1-meter!!!  The kid's got a future.  Abigail Poulter... what a yummy 104c!!!  Great job, sister.  And, who's that jumping off 10M, and doing front line-ups on 5M the first time they travel to the USAFA?  Way to go, Krystin Tagaris and Abigail.  Also, Caitlyn Kelly is beginning to dive again, and I can't help but think that she has a warm feeling in her heart for platform... nice 612d, sister, and nice new twister on 1M (5223d).  Sagebrush bid farewell to Kaley Knafelc, as she heads to University of New Mexico on a diving scholarship.  Good luck with the Lobos... and thanks for the cupcakes.

Practice Shutdowns/Cancellations: 

All practices will be on as scheduled.  Please note that Saturday's practice at USAFA will go a little longer, starting at 12noon, and lasting until 2:45p.  Also, Friday, August 9th, is the first of a series of FUN JO/Novice meets designed to give divers a low-key competitive outlet.  The warmup starts at 4p sharp, and the first event (girls' 1M, boys' 3M) begins at 4:30p sharp.  Divers are responsible for getting their dive sheets filled out per USD Rules and Regs (14&older divers will do their Vols first, and 12/13 divers will be allowed to follow Summer National rules... no limit on the dives).  See FUN1 for details.  See Results for all individual results of the first meet.
