THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 14, 2002

Updates:  Coach Kev had a busy week with the teardown of the old 1M diving stand, and install of the new 3M diving stand in its place.  The 3M stand is due to be ready for use on Monday, 10/21/02.  Other major updates for the divers... Bryce Engstrom and his Eagles qualified for Cross Country State, to be held next weekend.  Hannah Feuerstein had a great week, finally landing her 203c again.  Nice.  Brandi Gonzales landed her 103c and 402c.  Wow!  Emily Hanson landed a not-so-perfect 203b, but will get it back.  Phil Lahnert landed his first 301c.  Stud guy.  Cassidy Lynch landed a 105c for the first time on 3M, and put his 404c in as well.  Voluntaries are beginning to refine well.  Jerry Molsberry is diving pretty well... I expect a few new dives soon.  Kaitlyn Murphy landed her 201c with handspotting again... that was pretty cool.  Julesberg is simply ripping her voluntaries now.  Working on beefing up the DD on 3M... 1M, we're there.  Kaitlyn Patz is close to getting her 403c back.  Ben Raznick is beginning to land some dives, with the 205c and 405c on 3M, and dropping out of 5132d on 1M.  Nice.  Brent Reichman is chomping at the bit to do 3M... perhaps next week.  He has a 101c/103c/201a/301c/401c on 3M.  Susan landed most of her dives this week, including her 105c and 5132d, but not including her 301c.  C'mon, Sus.  Sami is beginning to look better than the Zone Qualifier on 3M a year and a half ago.  Solid opts and vols on 3M (with the exception of twisters), and her DD is finally becoming her strong point on 1M (104c, 105c, 203b, 303b, 403c, 5223d, 5323d).  Awesome.  Nick Siegler is as ready as a kid can get to throw 105c on 3M.  Should be any day now.  201c and 301c mechanics are beginning to look as good as any 13-under diver in the State.  Miss you, Amber.  Lindsay Walderman landed three 104c's recently at USAFA, but the rest of her dives are looking very good as well.  Landing her voluntaries with LITTLE hesitation on 3M is a good sign of things to come.  Pete Wethington is landing all his dives on 1M, and is building a 3M list as well.  Really, the only dive missing on 3M is a twister, that we will work on next week.  Jill Wierzba is working on solidifying her 403c for competition.  She should be ready with that dive, as well as her 104c.  Next dive?  A twister, a 203c, and perhaps that 301c?

Shutdowns/Cancellations:  Due to a DU meet at Ft. Collins, Coach Kev can't be at two places at one time, so NO USAFA on Saturday of this week.
