THE WEEK OF July 21, 2003

Cancellations:  Everything is as scheduled.  No cancellations.

Updates:  The divers just returned from Pasadena.  We backed off on intensity for most of the week, with focus put on somersault form and board balance... with a little fun mixed in.  Amber was gone the entire week, but we left a fun Mexico message on her voicemail... wonder if she got it?

Meili put in a few legit 303b's on 1M, as well as a couple 5233'd on 1M.  She landed a couple nice 104b's, but not ready for a 105b on 1M.  At USAFA, she landed her first 622a on 5M (a little over, but very nice).  She's also been working double-bouncing 105c's on 1M, but her tucks don't seem to move.  Finally, she landed a couple 5323d's on 1M, and it is just a matter of time before she gets on her head.  Lotsa lead-ups...

Missy landed a couple handfuls of double-bouncing 105c's, and one (legit 4's) 105c with a regular hurdle.

Bryce had a fun week, trying and landing a few new dives just to spice things up.  205c on 1M (which he made every time he tried it), 303b (which he used to have so much trouble with), 204b (preps for 205b soon), and he even tried a new dive on 3M... operative word is "tried."  405b... Lotsa lead-ups, B-money.

Jerry had a good week working 302b prepping 303b, as well as starting to think about 105b.  Just a matter of time.  Beginning to think about getting his 303c mechanics corrected.

Cassidy is beginning to work on a 303b to fill out his 16-18 list with 0.3 more points of DD.  His inwards are beginning to square up, and he is ACTUALLY RIPPING (first true rip at USAFA on Saturday... wow!  Also thinking about a 105b on 1M, and a 107c.  Nice...

Ben... all I can say is wow!  He is a couple days back from a long trip to Israel and he celebrates it with his first 205c on 5M.  He was actually low on the starts, but is the quickest guy I've seen getting into tucks.  Very nice to help round out his platform list.  Also put all his 3M and 1M list in...

Nick was also a diver treated to his first real rips this week in practice, putting in a 101b and a 105c for rips on 3M.  His 303c on 3M is fundamentally sound, and he landed his first 403b this week, using it on Friday at the F.E.E. as a voluntary (losing 0.2 DD, but it was worth it).

College divers:  Dave was gone for a week, and is back ready and rarin to go for the remainder of the Summer.  Put a list together on 1M featuring his new 5134d, and everything went pretty well (237 for 6-dive NCAA list).  Johnna is really getting her 303c.  Awesome.

Developmental:  Mike Waterman and Dallas Smith are doing very well, progressing through most of the somersaults with no problems.  Michael lost his 5122d on 1M (brain cramps), but will work on getting it back this week.  Dallas found a 5122d (very excited about THAT), and also a good 403c on 1M.  Also, both young men are landing voluntaries on 3M, with Michael getting 103c, 202c, 302c, 403c, but no twisters yet.
