THE WEEK OF June 5, 2010

What a great week.  Most divers showed up, here's a quick update on the week.  Wednesday/Thursday, OOHH Mama... it was a bit chilly, think it was the end of Spring chill... Friday was absolutely perfect!

Patrick Aber, never dove on the 3M before... next thing you know... BOOM, front dive, front flip and front fallin on 3M, plus front jump and back jump.  All those dives plus a back fallin and back flip on 1M!!!  Novice just like that.

Kim Anderson dove one day, and used that to survive the chill of Thursday.  Probably still sitting by a campfire!!!

Hayden Arnold, what a crazy little man.  He's got the spirit, and really wants to get better.  Did Front/Back jumps and front fallin on 3M, plus front dive, back fallin and front dive front flip on 1M.  Kid has the fever for diving!!!

Meili Carpenter:  Everyone on our team is relatively new or BRAND new to diving.  So, it was quite a treat for the divers to see this young non-retired college diver who is hoping to make SENIOR NATIONALS again on both 1M and 3M.  Her drills are outrageous, and she's pretty cool too.  Good luck to her... she left on Thursday a.m. to return to Buffalo.  Karla (her coach) has all the fun!!!

Max Hayward:  Another young talent.. has a strong front jump back jump on both boards, and has a solid front fallin, too.  Has front dive and front flip, and ALMOST got front one and a half somersaults Friday in the Sun.  Stay tuned... great form, happy kid!!!

Rory Lenny:  He's the thinker in the group, and is on his way to learning some pretty cool stuff.  Front jumps and back jumps on 1M and 3M, working on front fallin on 1M... loves the high board.  Can 't wait to see what new tricks he learns.

Desi Lester:  Just started toward the end of the week.  She's Novice on 1M (front dive, front flip, back fallin/back dive, back flip), and has front jump, back jump, front fallin on 3M. 

She's a-gonna be a good one.

Duncan Lester:  Another one of those "wow" divers... just started, has a front dive, front flip, back fallin, back flip and front jump, back jump and front fallin on 3M.  Watch out...

He's a gonna be a good one!!!

Cliff Lester:  He's "alright."  hahaha... Cliff has quickly learned the basics and has one of the best no-step and one-step hurdles in the pool right now.  Has all the basics and will be learning a list of dives in all directions pretty soon.  The oldest of the 3 Lester children, we could have a pretty serious diving family soon... stay tuned.

Kayla Lee Lucas:  Watch out... this gal is driven!!!  Has all of her voluntaries back after a short layoff and she'll lead our competitive group.  Dove Friday in the Sun for the first time in her life... loved it!!!

Quinn McCulley:  What a doll!!!  She's been in once (she had school til Thursday), and she really loves to fly through the air and play this sport called diving... next week... hurdles, jumps, 3M, and some fallins... stay tuned... she smiles harder than anyone.

Erika Petroy:   Uh-oh... she's only dove one HS season, and has two left... just what Fairview needs, a diver that's going to take it to the next level!  Stay tuned... she survived a COLD Thursday, and is probably still thawing out... but she's going to explode on the diving scene!!! 

Callie Smith:  Has all the basics... and add FORM.  She's getting in without a splash on just about everything... front/back jump, front/back fallin, front dive, front flip... wait til you see this gal improve.

Aidan Williams:  Aidan is another quick study... front jump, back jump, front fallin, front dive, front flip... and that's on 3M.  the front flip was an accident.  But what a trooper!!!  and we cannot forget...

Axel Williams:  Axel... these two guys are freaks (in a very good way).  Same accidental front flip on 3M.  Watch out for the Williams' Twins!!!  They are going places!!! 

Kaylie Young:   She's quite the talent as well.  She has solid skills, and actually got all the dives that everyone else has... even got her first back fallin on 3M (with Coach Kev's spotting).  She completes the TRIO of young ladies on the team that will drive Coach Kev crazy... Kaylie, Kayla, Callie... do we have any Kaitlyn's that want to join?!?  Stay tuned... one week down, and we have a TEAM!!!
